Sonya D. Ferreira graduated with honors from Saint Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, and from Bowie State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She is a retired military officer and combat veteran serving in her city. With over 27 years of leadership and teaching experience, Sonya brings a diverse perspective leveraging her unique insights into personal and professional relationships.
She is a published author and the visionary for Emissary Way which focuses on building bridges of connection and understanding through faith and practical principles to develop leaders in marriages, families, and communities. Her seminars are characterized by authenticity, humor, and transparency.
When she is not traveling, Sonya resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband, Dave, and their two sons, Elijah and Ephraim. She enjoys watching epic films, sports, music, and inspiring others through storytelling.
